Henry C. Pitz (1895-1976) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a scholarship student at the Pennsylvania Museum School, in Philadelphia. He was an artist, illustrator, author, editor and teacher. Pitz wrote and illustrated many well-known books. Henry became an editor and writer for the monthly magazine, American Artist. His work can be found in many collections and institutions, including the New York Public Library and the Los Angeles Museum
