Samuel Chamberlain (1895 – 1975) was born in Cresco, Iowa. He was educated at the University of Washington, M.I.T. and continued his studies in Europe at the Royal College, London. An accomplished etcher, lithographer, writer, teacher and lecturer, Chamberlain received many awards, such as the Guggenheim Fellowship for study in etching in 1926. He specialized in architectural illustration and photography.
