George O’Connell (1926 – 2015), an American printmaker and painter, was born in Madison, Wisconsin. He received his art education from the University of Wisconsin and Ohio State University. A Fulbright Award allowed O”Connell to complete his studies in Amsterdam. He taught printmaking at SUNY Oswego, NY for many years. His prints and paintings have been exhibited and collected internationally. Collections include: The Smithsonian, the National Collection of Fine Art, and the Memorial Art Gallery of Rochester, New York.
