Mervin Jules (1912 – 1994), an American printmaker and educator, was born in Baltimore, MD. He received his art training at Baltimore City College, Maryland Institute College of Art and in New York at the Art Students League where he studied under Thomas Hart Benton. He served as Associate Professor of Art at Smith College (1946-1969). Jules also acted as advisory editor of the School Arts Magazine. His work has been acquired by permanent collections of many prominent museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Modern Art, Boston Museum and Philadelphia Museum of Art, to name a few.
