In celebration of the unveiling of the 2025 commissioned Presentation Print for the Print Club of Rochester, Print Club Roc has partnered with AAF Greater Rochester in welcoming Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. to Rochester for a lively speaking engagement at Nazareth University on April 17th, 2025 from 6:00PM – 7:00PM.

Amos Paul Kennedy,Jr. defies easy categorization in his artwork which blurs lines of art/design, activist/provocateur, printer/printmaker. He self-identifies as “a humble negro printer” and stuff-maker”, not an artist, yet his poignant mix of art and activism has been exhibited in dozens of museums and galleries across the United States, including Poster House, the Brooklyn Public Library, the Library of Congress, and the libraries of the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He is recognized as a Glasgow Fellow in Crafts (2015), an Individual Laureate of the American Printing History Association (2021), he received the Outstanding Printmaker Award from the Mid Atlantic Print Council (2022),and the Southern Graphics Council International Lifetime Achievement Award (2024) among other honors. Kennedy’s work is deeply rooted in his lived experience growing up during the Civil Rights Era and he strongly identifies with populations that are oppressed. He gives a voice and visibility to those who are discriminated against, in a way that resonates with the masses. Alongside his print reveal, Kennedy will share more about his invaluable experience, creative insights, and powerful perspective. 

This event allows members of the Rochester community to engage with a visionary artist and discover how they can use their own creativity to make a statement and an impact. 

The event will be held at the Shultz Center Forum at Nazareth University, 4245 East Ave Rochester, NY 14618. Doors open at 5:30PM.
